Subject:      Power steer. rack rebuild?

Have an 86 Westy with a leak from the drivers side boot on the pwer steer
rack. Bad.  Runs dry in a day after full top off and now has
less-than-manual steering.  Can I rebuild it myself, or replace seals on
that side only?  Should I opt for the $300 rebuilt from our friendly
vendors?  (shipping to Hawaii is a killer..)  Archives didn't have much on
self rebuilding- I'd prefer that route if a kit is available.   Aloha-
