Subject:      Fuel Pump Whine in S. Dakota

I write on behalf of my brother, Tony Mourkas, who called me tonight to
report a whine from his fuel pump.  He is on his way to a bicycling event
South Dakota which starts Saturday evening, and from there, his wife Anne
will be driving the Sag-wagon for a week or so.  He wants to know:


How long can they let the fuel pump whine before it quits?  Any advice for a
van on the road with this problem?  They are near Mt. Rushmore, if anyone
has a suggestion for either a shipping address for parts or for a Vanagon
mechanic.  Napa Auto Parts did not have what they need in stock and it was
mucho $$$.
