Thanks, Brent, I do intend to replace them.  I just need to do a temp repair unti;l i get
the hose... as i hope to pick up the springs Monday!

BTW, in examing the hose, it appears to still be in excellent shape, except right at the
tip, where for about the first 1/4" it is spongy and soft.  I imagine the other ends are in
pretty near the same shape.  A fire hazard indeed!
