Thanks for the show of fang and claw, Karl, but I would be surprised if me and me local animal chums can't handle the threatened airhead invasion. We' ve got all the major entry roads covered by Muppet scouts, wearing mooncap helmets (holding airscoop shields), wielding lever action high-powered potato cannons. Over on Kezer Lake (one of the "Ten Prettiest Lakes in America", according to the National Geographic Society) there is a small but vocal contingent of amphibious Loons, like floating mini-Vanagons, preparing for a battle w/ low trajectory waterpump slingshots. Up on the high ground of the Longfellow Mnts, the Bullwinkle Brigade of seven and eight feet moose are patrolling the summits 25 hours a day (to those who may respond that moose have only four feet, don't even bother). In addition, I spent most of yesterday moving giant granite boulders to strategic positions (trusty watercooled Kubota), behind which are stationed the spirits of General Joshua Chamberland, and The 20th Maine Regiment . Stephen King, although not yet actively involved, is sure to enjoin the fray by patrolling all major roadways w/ Christine the Chrysler and a dog named Cujo, ridding shotgun. He really, really hates straying vans, of any sort. Playing the pipes is the Fryeburg Academy Memorial Jazz Ensemble Band, (former State Champs) w/ my son Gabe blowing a mean T-bone horn.. All is ready and waiting. Let us know when the white flags begin to fly and flutter.

Cheers,
