Subject: Instrument Cluster wiring problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all, been away from the list for a while, but I need you all again so I am back (sorry to be so selfish -- but I could not keep up with the time for the lilst before). Anyway, here is the problem. I had an intermittant instrument cluster lighting problem with my '90 GL. I traced it out and found a loose conection at the place where the ribbon wiring meets the real wires under the dash (if that is not clear, let me know but basically there is clear ribbon with copper tracts on it that supplies ppower to the instrument cluster and it goes down on the right side of the sterring wheel under the dash to a white connector that has normal wires on the other side of it). So I mess with the connector a bit and get it to work (just using finger pressure). Then gues what? the ribbon comes out. there was a broken peice of plastic around here too, but I dunno where it came from. Anyway the ribbon by itself obviously will not go in and now I have got no power to the instrument cluster. So what do I need to replace and how do I go about it. Also, any list vendors that have what I need, pls pmail me. thanks. Charlie PS: It is good to be back and I have been checking in with you all via the archives and referring others to the list and members boards while I have been away.
