My '87 Westy has 300,000 km on the original engine and HEADS ! I did replace the head and cylinder base gaskets and piston rings (only because I broke an oil ring while trying to get one of the jugs back on) back in June of 1996 at 203,700 km ! The rest has been normal maintenance as far as I'm concerned ! You drive it, it wears out and you gots to repair a few things now and then. All normal to me anyways !
