The owner's handbook for my 75 1.8 Bay told me the cruising (and coincidentally the max engine-safe)speed was 80mph, and the van could hit this speed any time on anything other than a steep hill (it did have a 1916 kit but no other modifications, and one piston was bad). I'd have driven it at this speed all the time, but over 65 the fuel consumption would jump. |
