This ought to be pretty easy, but I'd like to have some instructions if anyone can provide them. It seems that I have to unbolt the metal shrouding in order to get enough room to work there. Then, I suppose I need some kind of lever to push the valve cover latch down. Will the cover just come right off then? Will a lot of oil spill out? To what degree should I "clean" the surfaces before putting the new gasket in and closing it back up? I've been told not to use any sealant, but I'd like to make sure that I have all the important details before taking it apart. By the way, this is an '87. Any advice on doing this job would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David |
