What else can I say about my 80 Vanagon? What I thought and hoped was hyd lifter problem, turns out to be a rod knock. I had the heads done 9 months ago and am not in a position to sink $$ for an engine. Now I know I should have had the whole thing done, shopped around for the best price etc etc.... But this was all before I knew of this kewl list! Arghhh! I will be leaving the ranks of the vanagon crowd for a while, unless I can convince wife (my kids love it.) Now if I could find one with A/C PS recently rebuilt conversion engine for $1500, in CA I'd buy it. - Rick '80 vanagon ~mostly dead~
