Hi all,

In an effort to keep the positive post / negative post ratio high, I thought I would tell you about my trip last weekend. We went from our home in Durham NC to Cheraw SC to my parents house, where we picked up a very large couch and matching chair. So on the return trip, we had my 5'x8' trailer + furniture to about 700 pounds combined sitting on our Dennis Haynes receiver hitch. Imagine 4 hours with only one lunch stop. It was 95 degrees, high humidity, AC on, and 60 mph cruise control. The 18 month old VW rebuild engine just sawed along the whole way, and the orange Dexcool never pushed the temp guage above the lower side of the LED. (Having a mechanic that knows how to get the air out of a coolant system is helpful!) A purely uneventful trip is the most blissful!

Michael Townsend 90 Carat, Tornado Red (I haven't installed my stickers yet!)

P.S. I only saw 2 Vanagons on the whole trip, and I was too slow on my wave reflexes. My apologies if it was two of y'all.
