Right -- but the cooling cycle takes about 20 minutes to establish itself once you apply the heat, and it stops in a very few minutes when you take the heat away. This is true whatever the heat source, but it applies to the 12v where you're driving then shutting the motor off, then driving again.

It is, btw, possible to rig up a switch and relay so that the 110v thermostat can switch over to control 12 instead...
