My Vanagon Westy is insured as a motorhome. The motorhome trick makes the Westy extremely cheap to insure. My insurance agent thought I was wacko but she put it through anyway and it worked. I heard this trick on the internet and it was probably on this list.

How did you get away with this? I have called just about every insurance company I can find and they tell me my Westie is a car because it does not have the plumbing for a toilet. My wife and I are getting ready for a cross-country multi-month trip and would like to get what is known as 'full-timers' RV insurance so that our personal effects are covered and we have personal liability (like having renters insurance for your car).
