My Westy has a metal plaque affixed to the body just forward of the passenger door. It carries a registration # for a valid Cal "Housecar." The seller made much of this asset, claiming it gave me legal protection against unlawful search & seizure that put the vehicle on a par with the rights one (may still) enjoy in one's home against search without warrant. Would this registration in California perhaps make it easier to insure my Vanagon as an RV? Anybody? Phaedra
