Scott, I just ordered my first digital camera. I'm a serious amateur with a lot of good, old, heavy SLR gear that I use for most things, but I wanted something for internet sharing. I am trying to decided myself what to do about the camera/van power situation. I bought an 8 watt solar panel (about 12x19" ) that I use traveling to trickle charge my primary battery & recharge my aux battery, & power my batt recharger. I like the solar panel, & the aux battery, etc. I just don't know yet whether I can adapt my camera's battery pack to charge off my auxiliary Van batt or whether I will need an inverter also. The guy to ask is List member Ron Bloomquist. He just showed me a small inverter he has in his '84 that he uses to plug his coffe grinder into! He said it was a good one & cost $50. He's out of town for a few days, but will be back. I intend to ask him, you could too. He seems to have a line on them & has already worked out some of the logistics.
