got new compressor and receiver/drier from bus depot. wrench monkey now tells me we need to replace expansion valve as well. bentley shows expansion valve installation proceedure to be somewhat involved, but not terribly difficult I guess (I'm no mechanic, but I try to understand). how much should an expansion valve cost and how do I know that wasn't the problem in the first place? ac was still running, kinda cool, but not at all cold. hope i didn't just buy a compressor when all i needed was something else... advice?
