I bought a 300w "PortaWattz" (I think) unit at West Marine for about $75 last year. I noticed recently that they have them at Costco for $35. (typical!) :-)

It is made from blue aluminum, and will run a pair of laptops all day long off my aux batteries.

As to digital camera battery recharging, I suggest you look into the Maha unit - it comes with AC and 12v adapter, plus 8 NiMh batteries rated at 1550 mAH

I'm planning on getting one soon. (As soon as I blow through the 24-pack of Duracells I bought at Costco) :-)
