Last night I went out for a bite to eat and to take a break from working on the front end of my van. I grabbed a newspaper on my way. I pulled up to Brunos to pick up a friend. A blue 89-90 Doublecab pulled away just in front of me, and a vanagon westy swung into his parking spot! Then I opened a paper whle waiting for my friend. Front page story in the metro section was about two guys who just arrived in town and who are driving a vegetable oil powered diesel vanangon westfalia cross country. They hunt down ma and pa restaurants and bum the waste cooking oil for fuel, and have made it all the way across the USA this way. Sound like typical vanagon guys, why aren't they on the list? They are headed to LA today. It's a Blue westy. Wave if you see them!
