You probably can't see the sliders while the seat is installed. Remove the metal sill from the sliding door (4 screws?) Move the carpet out of the way. Lift out the cut-out piece of insulation board. Remove the 4 bolts from the cross bars at the base of the seat. Slide the seat out toward the sliding door. You will then see the rails. You will also then see the 4 bolts that hold the rails down to the floor.

I'm planning to fit one to my Westy also. I haven't yet down it, but I'm quite encouraged by the number of list members that have or have seen it done.
