Thanks to all the replies to the "can't stop" string.

Karl Woltz hit it on the head. I just replaced my bulbs and now they work fine. Thank God I don't have to fool with the brake switches. Replaced the bulbs, went to the shop and got my sticker at lunch. Here was my reward....

On the way home I was driving along in Jackson, my 84 GL, and there along the side of the road was what I thought to be a small pure white weasel. Surely this is unusual even for PA woodlands. It almost ran out in front of me, but fortunatly backed off. Of course I turned off the road and went a weasling. When it saw me coming it ran down a small hill into some brush. I could still see the white fur, so I gently moved the brush aside and got close. I made some animal type noises, and sure enough it came out and approached. Cautiously I let it come close. We greeted and well, it let me pick it up.

I placed him in the back of the VW, (thank goodness my Pep Boy struts open very easily with one hand thank-you) and I started home to call SPCA and police et el. While driving, the little bugger somehow figureed how to climb over the backseat, along my side shelves, over assorted tools etc., through the headrest and on to my shoulder. I am not used to that I must say. And we just met!

It was quite a site: 300 lb, red beard, shaved head man driving in VW Van with a pure white feret on shoulder. I'll have to attach a picture some day.

Well I am finally back at the office, and from what I hear the feret is at home happily chasing my wife, 2 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats around the house. Honestly I hope we find the rightful owners, but somehow I think my "can't stop brakes" turned into a fateful inspection trip. Thanks Karl.

You know what they say, timing is everything. That is what I get for bad VW jokes.

Anyone have any ideas for an appropriate name?

Thanks again for everyone's help. Happy trails.

Kurt Grotz.
