Ya know, that's something I've always wondered about the complaints about the wasserboxer.

130-150K for an engine is not bad. Most American made engines are expected to conk the day they hit 100K, and be VERY dead, not just needing new cylinder heads.... The resale on a US car that hits 100k is VERY low, but people are still expecting and getting 8-13K for their used 100k+ Vanagons.

I mean, sure they aren't getting 200K like the standard bulletproof 1.8l early 80;s vw engines, 300K like the VW diesels, or 500K like the mercedes engines... but c'mon, 130k is not a bad lifespan for an engine.... and 200k with just a set of heads is pretty darned good.
