Touche! Your comments on WBX vs conversions are right on!
My 87GL has 146,000 on the original engine/heads and runs beautifully with no
leaks. Let the converter folks get back with us when they reach those kind of
numbers. I know of several other Vanagons in the 150,000 to 220,000 mileage
category. How do the "converts" think our Vanagons acquired all those miles
anyway? Certainly not by sitting a repair shop.
