Yes Joel,

I'm aware that they are not on the same side ... they are directly opposite of each other. Therefore, don't their rods hit the same cam? I've never looked at the innards of an engine up close and personal, but the drawings in Muir's book lead me to think that there are only 4 cams. And my understanding is that there are 8 valves (? ports) - 4 intake and 4 exhaust. If this is the case, then some have to be shared. Makes sense to me that those opposite each other would be the ones to share.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I know that I am mechanically challenged but, inquiring minds just want to know. ; )
