Subject: Westy speaker replacement??
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

I just put a new CD player in Zippy (85 Westy), and heard just how bad my stock "stereo Prep" speakers from blaupunkt sound. These are the 3.5 inch ones in the brown plastic housing in the doors and air conditioning cabinet. My local VW dealer has no info on replacement, and nothing in the local stereo shops (radio Shack, best Buy, Circuit City) can flush mount shallow enough for the window crank to pass.

I'm trying to dig the old speaker out of its enclosure, but that's tough.

What have the rest of you done?

BTW, I tried to search the archives for the last week or so, but have been unable to get any response on anything.

TIA, Peter &Zippy
