My speedo also growls, but it has nothing to do with temperature.  It
does it more as the speed decreases.  In addition to the sound, the
needle fluctuates.  Both the sound and the fluctuation slow down as the
speed increases.  Does this also sound like the cable problem calling
for the graphite ?
