Subject: Vanagon Theater System (Cheap)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Just got back from Wal-Mart and found a nice deal on something that I had been wanting for a while. We have two little ones that have a hard time with long trips (they get bored easily). I had been thinking about getting some type of TV/VCR combo for the Van. The ones that are already AC/DC ready are expensive to me (around $280 for a decent one) and the screens are only 9". I found a nice Magnavox/Philips 13" TV/VCR combo that was AC only on sale today at Wally World for only $150 (actually the Phillips one was $179 and the Magnavox one was $150 and they are the same company so I went with the cheaper one). I then went to the car stuff row and I found a 300 watt inverter for $49.95 (I can get the brand if you want, but it is yellow). Got the TV out of the box and the frame around the screen is silver (to match the grey interior of my van, bonus!). It fits nicely between the two rear facing seats in my Carat and within 3 mins I was watching our latest Veggie Tale video (people with kids know what I am talking about). So now we have a on the road movie theater for the kids (less stress on Mom and Dad) for only $200 (even came with a remote!). And for purists, Philips is some sort of European company (even though the thing is probably made in Tiawan :). Just thought I would share in case someone else was thinking about this.
