Just got in from visiting regular contributor, Robert Lilley. He'd invited me to come see his '88 Wolfy with an exceptionally well done 2.1. I'll let you contact him for details, but the package, along with the SA five-speed gearbox, works well: smooth, strong, quiet, broad torque curve. Robert took a great deal of time to explain his engine theories, show what he'd done about them, and then took me and my daughter for an extensive test ride. And I'd never met the guy before tonight. Robert's not in the engine or parts business. He's just a regular guy who's applied intelligence and years of experience to improving the WBX. He thinks he's solved the inherent foibles of this engine while improving power and economy. I suspect he may be right. Thanks Robert. James Huskins Chapel Hill, NC |
