I knew I shouldn't have done that!
Well, today the temps got up to 100F, that's not heat index, that's 100F
with Alabama humidity. I used the A/C and the inside was comfortable. Not
cold, but OK. But the compressor noise tells me the system is struggling to
keep up. The A/C shop told me I have a leak, and I have been waiting for
the freon (R134) to leak out and find a better way to mount the dryer. That
was two months ago. I have not used the A/C much since then.
It makes sense that the upside-down dryer is not letting the freon flow
properly, and that would explain the poor cooling performance and the noisy
compressor. Since the oil is not circulating properly, I need to stop using
the A/C until I correct the dryer mounting.
Chris.
