Er...not sure what this has to do with Vgons -- the Vanagon flue cap covers the exposed end of the otherwise-sealed refrigerator burner-air system (which exits through the driver-side wall amidships). This "vent" provides both intake and exhaust air for the burner. Any water produced or introduced into the system drains down into the burner chamber where it (potentially) floods the burner. There is a drain extending to the bottom-front of the reefer whereby such water may be drawn off -- but you really don't want to squirt your car-wash hose in there, hence the cap.
