Possibly not quite on topic, but the aftermarket skylight seal that BusDepot sell for $14.95 fits really nicely. I just installed one. It is actually the same bulbed seal as he uses for the poptop/luggage rack, except the bulb is relocated slightly relative to the seal. The seal features the aluminum clip inside, so it will last forever, and it is designed so you can install it without unbolting the skylight mechanism, which is required with the stock seal. The seal includes a rubber "plug" so that the seal ends can be joined together without the chance of a leak. The seal is slightly longer than it needs to be, so you can trim off the excess length and join the ends together. The instructions say to use silicone caulk or equivalent around the outside edge of the seal after you install it, but the seal grips the poptop so tightly that I'm not sure caulk is necessary. I guess I will find out next time it rains. Oh, and speaking of seals, I am having good luck (finally!) with the bulbed-type seal on my luggage rack. No more panel drumming. And my poptop seal seems to be working quite well, as well. Dan "(Donna Cassano)" wrote: > Jeff, > How reasonably priced do you need your repair to be. > Plumbing supply store. Silicone caulking.
