I'm intrigued by the thread related to flue caps. I wonder if the lack of such caps is the reason that we have all of those refr problems on the list.. and if it's why mine won't work well either! ;-) Does anybody know of a source for a flue cap which will stay on? I'm not anxious to wear a margarine bucket around (and not just because of the trans-fat problem!) I'm a fairly new Westy owner, and had heard about the importance of the cap.. so I ordered one from one of the vendors on the list. Since I'd heard these were often "stollen", I thought about ordering a couple, but failed to do it. The sucker was a *&^% to get on over the metal flanges.. it kept springing out of the rubber base. I didn't feel at all good about this sort of 'fit', and sure enough the damned thing was gone by the time I got to the grocery store and back. (I'm sure nobody at that store has any interest in lifting a flue cap!) I've been watching Westies as I drive around the past month or so. There are lots of them here in Southern California where I live. I've probably "surveyed" 150 Westies in the time since I've started this little observation.. and I've not seen a single white plastic flue cap! -- ************************************************************** Steve Iman: sciman@csupomona.edu * Phone/fax: 949-496-3774 http://www.csupomona.edu/~sciman 24242 Porto Fino, Dana Point CA 92629 *Tell me and I'll forget... * Involve me and I'll learn mailto:sciman@csupomona.edu ************************************************************* |
