A VW-V6-Diesel in a Volvo is new to me, but Volvo definitely bought the patents of the 5-cyl. TDI from Audi. The petrol 5-cyl. is a Volvo construction, but the Diesel comes from the ´91-´97 Audi 100/A6.

They are used in the Volvo 850 and its facelift version, the V70.
