Speaking of thermistats: I have a matched BMW thermostat and fan switch so the fan will come on sooner - and my temp guage has been lower ever since: it never goes above the center of the LED by more than a hair (boar bristle hair) and it has never once even touched the top of the LED. Of course my fan comes on more often and I guess that might mean my water pump does too??? In any case I can afford a fan and a water pump more so than an engine...
