I just did the same thing, but could not get any cold air at all until we got to 5 1/2 pounds. Eventually put in six, but still are showing bubbles, indicating that more could still be added. We used R-12 because Freeze 12 is not available in Hawaii. Anyway, it seems good and cold now, but some other listees have questioned putting that much in... apparently it's double the alleged capacity. Not sure on exactly how well it is cooling now... hasn't been hot enough yet, but it seems pretty good. Any ideas anybody?
