Subject: Lower balljoint problem after 3500miles
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

I replaced both lower balljoints 3500miles ago and did all the rubber bushings at that time too. Didn't have the money to do the sqeaking upper A-arm bushings and the upper joints were OK. About 3 months ago I started to notice a knocking sound on the driver side when going over bumps. I looked at everything but the new lower balljoint. Finally got serious today and of course it was the lower ball joint! Good boot, bolted tight, German part, just worn out with about 1/8"-3/16" play. My local FLAPS said they never saw a case like it but will replace the joint and press it in for me ( but I have to take it off and bring it in=fun). Goes to show you never know.
