Low? You think that's low? I thought $45 was outrageous! Used to be $25, and I even thought that was ridiculous. Course some guy on Maui says it's $72 there. Yikes. So how much is the fine where you are? Now, mind you I am a seat belt fan just like you are and wear mine all the time, so it's not really an issue with me... but that's why I want mine to work properly, so it's not a pain in the ass when I put it on and take it off all the time. In fact, this probably doesn't afect you now, but in the westys with the swivel seats the attach end of the seat belt is way way down by the floor and a real pain to attach each time, so I swapped out for a non-westy, non-swivel seat model that had the end on a longer metal bar... probably what your bus has now I assume. It's a lot easier to attach.

Love BC, man... don't know where Bowen Island is though... we come up as often as we can to Vancouver and we especially love Vancouver Island. Tofino and the national parks near there... too cool. a lot like here actually except much cooler obviously... but black lava rocks and white sand beaches. Very similar. Love the eagles, whales, and I'm a real seafood freak... halibut, mussels, oysters... I have an old girlfriend that runs a restaurant there called the Alleyway Cafe... right behind the bank in downtown Tofino. Ever go there? You probably know lots of cool camping spots near where you live, eh?

There is a guy that rents westys here... but what you really need is a syncro... most of the really cool beaches here are inaccesible without one. Now the other islands are different... Maui and Kauai are much easier to camp on than here. But there are some great places here if you can get to em.

aloha!

Wow. That is indeed amazing. Why would the fine be set so low? Glad to hear compliance there is so high regardless.

Anyway, let me know if anyone gives you the skinny on a fix.

Love to go rent a westy in Hawaii some time, but I suppose a boat may give a bit more flexibility... Looking forward to taking the young family into Baja this February, so I'll still get my vitamin D this winter, one way or the other!
