Rick, If your BATTERY is giving off sensible heat, it is either being charged or discharged at an excessive rate. At the risk of sounding like an officious alarmist, this has to be checked right away. Hydrogen gas is given off while a battery discharges. As with other volatile gases, hydrogen is even more explosive at low concentrations than at high concentrations. Rich
