Just wanted to say thanks to all the advice on my
alternator probs a few weeks ago.  Finally got the
voltage regulator in (thanks Ken) and got it installed
last night.

Since I remembered to mark the relationship of the
alt. to the support, the whole job took about 30
minutes, and most of that was running through the rain
to the garage to get tools.

Fixed it right up.

And an especial thanks to those that recommended
replacing the entire regulator vs just soldering in
new brushes.  It was well worth the extra $$$ to not
try and deal with that headache last night, and I
would have had to replace the regulator anyways.

One question I do have though - how short is too short
for the brushes.  The old ones were 1/2 the the length
of the new ones, but looked like they still had some
life in them... I think the problem was a crack in the
regulator housing, and one of the brushes was sticking
in the fully compressed position.
