My 1986 stick shift vanagon has suddenly started idling extremely fast 2500-3000 rpm. Doesn't seem to be a stuck throttle. When started without touching the gas pedal it idles normally, 950 rpm, but once you have touched the gas it idles fast until it is switched off and restarted. Any suggestions where I should begin looking for the problem?
