Mark,
    My suggestion is for you to look at a westy, and see how it looks
yourself.  Look at a regular vanagon under your current seat, too, and you
will see what everyone is talking about.
Either buy a used swivel from someone on the list (like me or Chris Turner),
or get one out of a junked westy yourself.  They go for about $100 apiece.
