If junk yard near by, if they have a Vanagon, if it is black, if its in good shape and if it's a dollar...

I concur that junkyards are the way to go and yes definitely check it out. Sometimes my time is worth more than the hassle of checking the options. In defense of Bill, sometimes a Saturday in the junkyard is better than a good shrink. I go to junkyard "therapy" as often as possible. Unfortunately, the yards around Phoenix which were once legendary are now next to worthless. =)
