I hate to get rid of it, and I would like to keep it in the family. I have no place to store it. Interior is all original and in cruddy shape. Body had the front left fender and head light bucket replaced in the late sixties. Elderly owner hit a snow drift (don't freak out-it's minor-not car ad double talk). Missing Radio and horn grilles. Motor is a 1500 (not original) with less than 5000 miles on it. Trans is a later trans with a fitted nose cone. Fly wheel is 200 mm, so it uses a six volt starter. Bug has been converted to twelve volt (including wiper motor). The sunroof parts are all there, but there is currently just a cover sewn into place. No part has rusted out, including the battery tray. Needs brake work and front-end work. I used to commute to Seattle from Omaha once a month. I stayed a week each time and the beetle was my Seattle commuter. asking 1200.00; or a place to store it cheap; or some one to turn it into a daily driver for a reasonable price.
