No way will I ever cut out slots for any battery in my vanagon... I'd rather charge a battery or two at Kragen, if I have to while on the road, and then stick them under the rear seat.... and if they run out of charge - well then I'll just rough it out. Kragen has always charged my batteries for free.... I've had plenty of problems with batteries in the past..... (of course the batteries were purchased there - but I don't know if that makes a difference)
