Dear Bob and all, I got a flyer at the high country event. Directions are sketchy but there are phone numbers. I am thinking about going, it appears to be about 4-5 hours from the Research Triangle, NC area. Are there any other folks from NC planning to attend? Any waiting for someone to say "I'll go if you go"? It is listed as the "50th Anniversary VW II: a Gathering of Transporters for a one time 50 year celebration." Phones numbers from the flyer are as follows: mark + sandra @ salem import / va . 540-389-8587 540-314-8587 or troy @ Gass/Rennsport salem, ohio 330 503 3920 or Bill Webner @ wagonwerks 440 323 6414
"Daily event gaterings just south of the Bridge, watch for the signs" The bridge seems to be the non-natural wonder of the area. The map on the back shows the campground to be 1.5 miles west of intersection of W US 60 and US 19 N, just past North American River Runners. ("the Guard Rail is your landmark" I could scan and email a copy of the flyer if you do not have any luck with phones. Jim Henry Durham, NC 84 Westy w/ continuously blinking temperature light.
