<<And I'm a little afraid of using quad tip plugs because I'm wondering that they would be hotter which wouldn't be so good for the heads.>>

The quad tip plug does not go into the head as far as the triple tip. I had the triple tip in my T4 engine and the head temps were hotter than the single tip platinum (300-350). I put in the quad tip plug and the head temp dropped (225-275).

<<And as far as synthetic trans fluid -- first off I had a post that said they didn't see an improvement in mpg (though maybe there is an improvement in mechanical life) and second (I have an automatic) how would you put synthetic in when you can't even drain the transmission fully ... you would still have nonsynthetic in there...>>

Automatics use both gear oil and fluid. You can run Redline for both types of oil or Another brand of synthetic automatic fluid. I am using Mobil synthetic power steering fluid (same as tranny) in my power steering. I have been using it for the almost the past three years, @35,000 miles, with no problems.

It is OK for the fluids to mix, at the next fluid change, there will be less old oil in the mix.

Robert
