The Split is the coolest road vehicle ever designed! I had a 57 and 66, and
never heard a noise from the front roof overhang. Or the rest of the roof,
for that matter. Not even at 80mph (yes, a 57 with 1600 & split-case trans
will easily do 80 but will shorten engine life...). If you've heard a howl
from one, are you sure it didn't have a roofrack? These can generate an
awful wail.
