No,not at all.I went the synthetic trans oil route in the WBX more than 90,000kms ago, with some Nulon throw in for good measure. Aim was to make sure the transmission lasted as long as was possible. Still going great @187,000kms (touch wood)but certainly no noticable change in fuel consumption...

What did make a small difference for the better is running my van on Premium ULP.I get approx an extra 30-40kms per tank on a trip and a slight increase in ooomph up hills.But I mainly use it to reduce any chance of pinging in hot Oz summers.

Generally I get 26mpg (real imperial gallons that is) but have managed 28mpg occasionally.Note this van is a not a westy,but similar to what you call a Multivan so obviously lighter in weight.

Dunno,don't have PS in the WBX.More to go wrong.I like the KISS principle...:) Had no choice in the T4...
