Subject: Westy upper bunk foam?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I seem to have traced a disagreeable odor down the upper bunk foam in my 90 Westy...

I took the covers off the foam and washed them...

There are not visible stains on the foam itself so my guess is that the odor is a 'natural' off-gassing of the foam material itself...

But, it's interesting that the lower bunk foam that covers the engine hatch does not smell... also, it is a different color... green... while the upper bunk foam is yellowish...

So... my questions are:

1. Can foam be deodorized? Can the off-gassing be stopped/neutralized?

2. Can I buy new foam that is non-off-gassing???

3. Where can I buy any foam the right thickness... 1 3/4" for the forward piece and 2" for the aft piece...

This is pretty important to me since I am chemically sensitive and smells like this can put me into a 3 day migraine...

Thanks, Bill
