Subject: im selling my 84 vanagon westfalia
Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII

Hi, i purchased an 84 vanagon from an old man a few months ago with the intent of fixing it up to perfection and then seeing the country in it. But do to money restrictions and such i have decided to sell it. the van has 186,000 miles on it. the last owner told me he ran it out of oil at 62k miles and had the engine rebuilt. the engine is the main point of vehicle that needs fixing. it runs and starts up fine but leaks oil as well as burns oil. there is also a coolant leak that i believe is coming from a hose or the reserve tank, but the two times i drove it the van rode well and did not get hot, after running for a while it didnt sound as weak and ran better. it has the 1.9 liter wasserboxer engine, automatic transmission, am/fm radio(tape deck does not work). -----This van is located about 15 miles west of Kokomo, Indiana----- Another mechanical problem is the front drive side tie link is broken, it looks like it has been like that for a while and the van drives fine with it as is. I accidentally broke the water faucet by turning the handle too far there are 3 big rust spots on the sliding door, and rust around the rv hook ups, other than that the van looks in decent shape, it could use a new paint job but doesnt look bad, it is a light brown color with white pop top, which has been cleaned and looks good, the sun roof doesnt leak either -the propane tank is rusted through -the water tank hookup on the outside is smashed up and i dont have the key. the curtain for the sliding door is broken, the screen for the stove side of the van is included, as well as the sliding door screen but it is broken. the screen for the hatch is included. -there is a small cut or two in the pop top cover, but it still works good, i have slept in it during several fierce rain storms with the top up without any problems or leaking. -the interior is in very good shape. there are two cracks in the windshield but they do not interfere with driving nor have they increased in size during the time i have had the van

i can furnish additional information as well as pictures if you are interested, just email me at stone2@netusa1.net im asking 850 dollars

Derek
