Hi all.

I have a 1983.5 Westy with a 4 speed manual tranny, Not to long a ago, the shift lever got to feeling a bit loose, and I have trouble getting it to go from 2nd to 3rd gear, it will go, but I have to stir it a bit to get it to go.

At first I suspected the gear shift was out of alignment but a quick look under the van did not give me any clues, all the plastic parts seem to be intact.

I have been leaning toward thinking that the tranny is just worn out, and it's time to look for a new one or have it rebuilt. But I wanted to get a few opinions before I jump the gun and replace it.

Thanks in advance!!

Chuck Keeter 1983.5 westy
