Subject: Re: No Cost Power Upgrade???
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

I had to cut my power steering and ac belts once to change my alternator/waterpump belt when I was in a jam once, stuck in a rest stop - (the PO owner had the water pump changed at Pep Boys and the part for the belt was put in backwards - I drove it across country like this until it finally shredded in Oceanside California on the freeway - battery light came on - then the water temp red LED light went on - and I came to a stop on the side of the freeway..... --- luckily I had several gallons of water I had bought recently waiting for this event under the rear seat [just got lucky that I had them])

Anyway, I do remember having more punch off the line with just those two belts not in place - thing is I wasn't really thinking about it so I failed to make the connection - it wasn't so bad driving without the power steering...
